Arran to Carradale Interconnector - Landfall HDD

VolkerEnergy delivers the full range of civil engineering works and services to facilitate EHV cable installation for electricity transmission projects, including direct delivery of landfall and onshore horizontal directional drilling (HDD).  This encompasses EPC cable systems projects for transmission owners, such as National Grid, as well as the upgrades required to support the anticipated growth in offshore wind, reinforcing the network away from carbon intensive generation hubs to sources of green electricity.  For private offshore wind and interconnector developers we provide a comparable service, delivering civil engineering works associated with onshore EHV cable routes, including landfall and onshore HDD.

From a HDD perspective, VolkerTrenchless Solutions operates one of the largest rig fleets in Europe and have a strong technical team which includes geologists, drilling experts and equipment specialists, thereby enabling us to select and deploy the most appropriate trenchless method across a broad range of ground conditions.  We provide a full range of specialist trenchless services including feasibility studies; geotechnical support; design and ECI; EPC delivery; permitting; stakeholder management; and logistics.

We are also delivering infrastructure associated with giga-watt scale new nuclear power stations and are actively positioning for other emerging energy markets, such as small modular reactors (SMRs), hydrogen and carbon capture, utilisation and storage.
