Southsea Coastal Scheme earns ‘Outstanding’ rating in CCS Audit
The Southsea Coastal Scheme has earned an exceptional ‘Outstanding’ rating once again after it received full marks, plus an additional point for innovation (use of basalt mesh reinforcement), in its recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit.
As the UK’s largest local authority-led coastal defence project, the Southsea Coastal Scheme spans an impressive 4.5 kilometres from Old Portsmouth to Eastleigh. It plays a crucial role in protecting over 10,000 homes and 700 businesses from the threat of flooding.
The recent audit score is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire project team. It highlights the site leadership's commitment to engaging with the community, addressing local concerns, and ensuring the project meets its ambitious goals.
