The team working on the Southsea Coastal Scheme successfully reopened a section of the beach, within frontage 5, ready for the summer holidays.
Originally the reprofiling of the beach was programmed for the end of the Frontage 5 works, however the team re-sequenced the programme to allow work on the shoreline to finish early. By installing 350m of extra boundary fencing along the beach, parallel to the work area, the team were able to open this section six months earlier than planned, and in time for the community to enjoy the space over the summer holidays.
