Glossop WwTW deliver five new kiosks to site

The team working on the Glossop Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) have successfully facilitated the safe delivery of five new kiosks to site.

The project’s main focus is to reduce the amount of phosphorus discharge into the local watercourse, whilst undertaking a site wide upgrade and refurbishment of the existing plant.

The kiosks delivered include a main motor control centre kiosk, a caustic dosing kiosk, a primary ferric dosing kiosk, a secondary dosing ferric kiosk, and a tertiary treatment plant motor control centre kiosk. The ferric kiosks will hold the chemical which will dose the water and remove the phosphorus, improving the quality of the effluent.

The team are also working on the refurbishment of the existing primary settlement tanks and the installation of a new tertiary treatment plant. A new outlet chamber to the River Etherow will also be installed, and two new pumping stations are being constructed to support the new equipment.
