Women in Construction Week 2025: Meet Hannah Parsons
Next in our Women in Construction Week series, we’re spotlighting Hannah Parsons. Hannah, a Quantity Surveyor, has worked in the construction industry for six years.
Hannah has recently taken part in the VolkerWessels UK EMPOWER female career development programme, a programme dedicated to advancing female talent and fostering an inclusive work environment. We spoke to Hannah to find out why she thinks that more women should consider a career in construction.

Hannah said: “Construction is no longer just about physical labour, it now offers expanding opportunities in engineering, project management, sustainability, and technology. Beyond that, the industry provides hands-on problem solving, leadership roles, and the chance to shape communities through infrastructure and design.
“By pursuing a career in construction, women can break stereotypes and thrive in a dynamic, rewarding industry with limitless potential. They bring fresh perspectives, innovation, creativity and diversity, helping to drive progress in the field.”
