Members of the VolkerStevin team working on the Leigh Expansion project and the Teston Country Park Sluice Gates programme recently visited a local college.
The team attended MidKent College to give students an overview of the work the business carries out across the country, with a particular focus on local projects in Kent. They also got the chance to visit the new Institute of Technology Centre at the college’s Maidstone Campus.
The team gave students an insight into their own personal career journeys at VolkerStevin and within the construction industry. Whilst there, the team highlighted potential work placement opportunities for the students on our projects in Kent. We received 17 applications and were delighted to hear so many students were interested in this opportunity. The team will be returning to the college to discuss with the interested students what a work placement with VolkerStevin would look like.
“I would like to thank you for the most informative presentation and for the generosity of your time. The students have already been feeding back how much they enjoyed and appreciated the presentation and their wish to undertake their Industry Placement with VolkerStevin.”
Debbie Bailey Industry Placement Coordinator at MidKent College
Prior to visiting the college, staff from MidKent College visited our Teston site to see our works in progress.
