Full marks for Appleby FRMS in recent CCS audit

VolkerStevin is currently working on the Appleby Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS), on behalf of the Environment Agency.

The scheme will reduce risk from surcharging of the Doomgate culvert through upgrades and the installation of a new pumping station. Once complete, the scheme will reduce the risk of flooding to 64 properties within the Appleby area.

The project recently had a Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit and achieved the maximum score of 45. The team was commended for their efforts to care for the environment, such as identifying opportunities to reuse materials on site and reducing waste sent to landfill. They also created an ecology calendar to highlight significant environmental dates throughout the year.

The report also praised the team’s commitment to engaging with the local community, sending weekly updates to the town council, organising multiple school visits and making donations to local charities.

Congratulations to the Appleby FRMS!
