Adam Parkinson, Apprentice QS, stood in front of the VTS stand at No Dig 2024

These awards are designed to recognise and reward the achievements of exceptional apprentices, T Level students, skills champions and apprenticeship and T Level employers.

Adam has been shortlisted for the Rising Star of the Year award, this category seeks to recognise apprentices that have made impressive progress in their career to date and have the potential to go much further.

Adam initially began his apprenticeship working for VolkerSite Services in 2022, however transferred to his current role with VolkerTrenchless Solutions in 2023 working on the Strategic Pipeline Alliance project. Alongside his work Adam has been studying at the University of Central Lancashire to obtain his chartered surveyor degree. Commenting on his nomination, Adam said:

"I'm really proud to have been nominated for this award by the VolkerTrenchless Solutions team. We recently completed the final horizontal directional drilling installation on Anglian Water’s Strategic Pipeline Alliance project, which has been a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge of HDD and work with our Dutch partners Visser & Smit Hanab. “I have already learnt so much over the past three years of my apprenticeship and look forward to completing it in 2027.”

The East of England regional awards ceremony is on the 8 October and if Adam is successful in his category he will attend the National awards ceremony on the 27 November. We wish Adam the best of luck on his awards night!
