VSBW commit to restore native oysters in the Solent
VSBW, a VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster joint venture, delivering the Southsea Coastal Scheme is supporting the GreenTheUK Solent oyster restoration project, committing to restore approximately 200m2 of native oysters in the Solent.
Over the next five years the aim is to restore five million oysters, using both broodstock cages and seabed restoration, so that a healthy, self-sustaining oyster population is present to provide several key ecosystem services, as well as helping to improve water quality and increase biodiversity.
