VolkerStevin helps to improve accessibility on the River Medway

Our team working on the Teston Sluice Gates programme recently donated a commemorative bench to the Kingfisher Medway Trust.

The trust operates the electric boat Kingfisher Mark, a specially designed vessel that provides river trips for adults and children with mental and physical disabilities, along with their carers.

As part of our commitment to supporting local initiatives, VolkerStevin has provided a commemorative bench, marking the 20th anniversary of the Kingfisher Medway Trust. The bench offers a comfortable place for passengers, where they can wait to board the vessel, enhancing accessibility and ensuring a welcoming space for those using the service.

In the coming weeks, the project team will also be repairing and painting the landing stage, ensuring it remains safe and accessible for all visitors.

We’re proud to support such an amazing trust and play a part in improving facilities that will allow more people to enjoy the River Medway.
