Sewer diversion completion marks key milestone at Kendal Flood Risk Management Scheme

Our team working on the Kendal Flood Risk Management Scheme has marked a pivotal achievement with the completion of an intricate and demanding sewer diversion.

The completed sewer diversion is a crucial element of the wider flood risk management works, which are designed to safeguard homes and businesses from flooding. At the heart of the scheme is the installation of new flood defence walls and a state-of-the-art underground pumping system, set to activate during flood conditions. The flood scheme not only strengthens flood resilience but also enhances the open space of Gooseholme Common, creating a revitalised riverside amenity for both locals and visitors.

The completion of this sewer diversion, which was carried out by our sub-contractor, Waitings, marks a major milestone in the delivery of the Kendal Flood Scheme.
