Our New Wear Footbridge project recently became the proud sponsors of a local football club, Silksworth Youth.
Members of the project team - Darren Jones, Works Manager, and Deb Jones, Information Controller, visited the team during one of their training sessions. Whilst there the team learnt that many of the players are avid Sunderland AFC fans and dream of one day playing for the club. Darren also enjoyed a kickabout with members of the team!
Our team were inspired to consider that, upon completion, these young players will cross the New Wear Footbridge to reach the stadium of their favourite team.
