Kendal Flood Risk management scheme receives excellent CCS audit results

Congratulations to the team at Kendal Flood Risk Management Scheme, which has achieved an ‘excellent’ score in its recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit. The Considerate Constructors Scheme seeks to improve the image of the construction industry, by striving to promote and achieve best practice under its Code of Considerate Practice.

This was the second CCS audit to be undertaken using the scheme’s new scoring and reporting system, and the team complied with the Scheme's Code of Considerate Practice by achieving a score of eight or above in each of the five categories of the code. The team achieved an impressive overall score of 44 out of 50, improving on its first CCS score of 43 out of 50.

The CCS report read: “The appearance of the project remains of the highest level with extensive information provided at each working location and the work areas managed to an exceptionally high level. Regular maintenance takes place to assure that, even out of working hours, these standards are maintained.”

It continued: “The community efforts have been extensive, with a large amount of consultation with the community extending back many years by the client. Even at this stage further consultation is taking place and this is influencing the design and implementation of the works. Communications are maintained through personal visits, community meetings, a drop-in centre (flood hub), social media, press and recently added an app designed to provide links to the community.”

“Overall a very impressive project and clearly the team has ambitions to achieve at a higher level as this project proceeds over the coming years. Well done.”
