At the awards ceremony, held in Kendal, VolkerStevin and the Environment Agency earned four 'It's Your Neighbourhood' certificates for horticultural work at the Kendal Flood Scheme Information Hub, Mintsfeet, Beezon Fields, and the Parish Church. The team also received an ‘Improving’ certificate for the garden created at the VolkerStevin site compound in Westmorland Business Park, where we have created a flower, fruit and herb garden.
Employees at the Information hub on Beezon Road have planted window boxes, while volunteers have helped plant trees and bulbs on Beezon Fields and at the Parish Church.
The Cumbria in Bloom awards, as part of The Royal Horticultural Society's Britian in Bloom aims to encourage community groups to improve the environment in their area. This is a fantastic achievement by the team, providing benefits and improving the environment for the local community and wildlife.
